Join Charlie and mixologist Lynne Becker at Deep Sea Sugar & Salt for their new Cake & Party Punch series. In this round, we'll be celebrating winter citrus fruits with an Orange Marmalade Custard Cake and Parish Hall Punch.
For the cake: Follow along with Charlie as she demonstrates how to make the cake from beginning to end. From pillowy sour cream cake to a quick stovetop marmalade to our signature Cream Cheese Frosting, you'll learn all the tips and tricks to make the components and decorate your own cake at home. Cake will be sliced at the end of class to enjoy with our tastes of punch. Recipe packet, snacks and beverages provided.
The punch side of our Party Punch and Cake series will dive deep into the captivating world of Punch as we explore the history of this communal beverage, from its origins to its modern resurgence. This class is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to craft punches for any occasion. We’ll also delve into the scientific secrets behind creating an oleo saccharum – the fragrant citrus oil syrup that will add extraordinary depth to your drinks. By the end of the class, you’ll not only gain a newfound appreciation for a beautifully crafted punch, but also the confidence to create one yourself. Leave with a collection of punch recipes, and one lucky attendee will win a complete punch bowl set, ready for your next cake and punch celebration!
