What is your return/cancellation policy?

If you are dissatisfied with your order, please contact the shop within 24 hours of your pickup date. The best way to do this is by giving us a call directly.
Refunds and store credit will be issued at our discretion.
Orders cancelled with more than 14 days’ notice are eligible for a full refund.
Orders cancelled with less than 14 days’ notice are eligible for a 50% refund or 100% shop credit that can be used anytime in the future.
Orders cancelled within 72 hours of pickup date are not eligible for a refund of any kind, though we can issue you 100% shop credit.


EXTRA FLAVOR
CHARGE

We limit orders to a maximum of three flavors. Each flavor after the initial three will require a $25 extra flavor charge.

Our team works hard to ensure each cake is made with care. Cakes take time! Every cake flavor, filling and frosting is crafted from scratch, by hand. For this reason, we have implemented an extra flavor charge, which is applied to each flavor, after the third flavor. Because our current system doesn’t allow a button for this charge, someone from our team will contact you after your order has been placed to collect the remaining balance.

  • Accidents and Emergencies
    In the extremely unlikely event that an accident occurs, we will do everything within our power (and timeframe) to rectify the situation.
    If the damage is our fault, you will be refunded proportionally, but we are not liable for any additional compensation.
    Once the cake has been picked up and is out of our hands, we are not liable for any damage. We will do anything we can, within reason and timeframe, to fix the situation for you.

  • Event/Wedding Deposits and Payments
    A $200 non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit is required to secure a date for all future event/wedding cake booking.
    The deposit will be applied to the final total.
    In the event of an order cancellation the deposit will be forfeited. All orders must be paid for in full, 30 days before your scheduled pick up date.

  • Shipping and Delivery
    We do not currently offer any shipping or delivery. If you are placing a large order, please keep this in mind.
    We are not currently partnered with any third-party delivery services.

  • Gift Cards
    At this time, we only offer physical gift cards. If you’d like to purchase a gift card, you can buy one at our walk-up window or purchase one over the phone. You can choose to keep your gift card on file at the shop, to use when you visit, or we can mail it to you.

    If you have a gift card on file, or have received a gift card and you’d like to apply it to an online order, please give us a call. Our system does not accept gift card payments via the online store, but we are happy to coordinate an order by phone to use the balance.

  • What if I can’t pick up the slices I ordered?
    If you are unable to pick up the slices you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible. We are happy to save your box for pick up the following day. Slice orders that fail to be picked up are not eligible for a refund of any kind.

  • Do I need to pre-order my slices?
    You can, but you don’t have to! Pre-order is available on our website Thursday-Sunday 8am-11am for same day pick up.
    Or, you can order slices and cupcakes during open hours at the shop.

  • I pre-ordered, can I skip the line to pick up my order?
    We now have a Pre-Order Only Pick-up Window! You can walk up to the window and someone will be there to help you with any pre-paid pre-order items. The window may be closed to accommodate team member breaks.
    This window is WALK-UP ONLY, sorry, no drive-thru.
    If you want to add additional items, you must go inside and place an order at the counter.

  • I need a cake last minute, what are my options?
    We require a minimum of 7 days notice for all special orders, and we usually book up quickly!
    If you’re in need of a last minute cake, we carry a small selection of whole cakes, in rotating flavors, Thursday - Sunday, for same day pick up.
    The best option is to pre-order on our website in the morning between 8AM-11AM, however some cakes may be available for purchase at the walk-up window during business hours.
    To purchase, click the “Same Day Slices and Whole Cake Pre-Order” Tab, and scroll down to the section “On Hand Cakes” and shop available cakes.

  • I bought a box of slices, and some of them are thinner than the rest. Why aren’t my slices the same size?
    Each of our flavors requires different ingredients and a different amount of layers.
    Some cakes have 3 layers. Some have 12! Part of our love for cake is how much fun they are to create, tapping into the endless possibilities. For this reason, the slice sizes will vary. Some cakes are taller, so the slices will be thinner. Some cakes are smaller, so the slices will be wider.
    Each of us at Deep Sea takes great care when slicing your cake. If have an issue with your order, please let us know and we will double check that it’s correct.

  • Do you make any vegan or gluten-free items?
    We do not make any vegan or gluten free items, but are happy to refer you to a specialty bakery in the area who can do their best to fulfill your request.

  • Do you make tiered cakes or themed cakes?
    We do not offer tiered cakes for large events or themed cakes, but we can direct you to other wonderful bakeries in the area who may be able to fulfill your request.

  • Are all of your cakes made with cream cheese frosting?
    Most of them, yes. We love cream cheese frosting and feel that it adds more flavor to our cakes than average classic buttercreams. We do not make buttercream of any kind. If you are looking for a buttercream cake, we can suggest other excellent bakery options in the Seattle area.

  • Can I order a cake for a pick up on a day that you are closed?
    We are closed Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for rest and weekly prep. Cakes are not available for pick up on those days.

  • How does parking work?
    We have a small lot of free parking that we share with Great Notion Brewing. There is also a paid lot next door, and options for street parking nearby.

  • Can I bring in outside food?
    Please no outside food, thank you!

  • What new things do you have in the works for the new space?
    We have recently relocated to a larger space. We are working hard to add Beer, Wine, and other Non-Alcoholic options on tap. We are also looking forward to setting up the outdoor patio space as the weather warms this coming spring.

  • I participated in the Kickstarter, when do I get my rewards?
    Thank you so much for your support! All rewards have a deadline for delivery, which you can see on the Kickstarter page. When those awards become available, you’ll be contacted through the Kickstarter platform. All rewards will be available at or before the deadline listed!

  • I noticed you have art for sale in shop, how do I get my art into your space?
    We are currently booked for artists through November of 2024. Artists show for 2 months at a time. If you are interested in showing your art, please call the shop and we can connect you with where to submit samples of your work to see if you’re a good fit for our space.
